How not to get the Chelsea look

Bugger. Tried, and failed, to pull off a planting combo you see in fancy gardens. Alliums and grasses.

I’ve got the alliums, a huge variety whose name I forget (Christophii?). They’re looking lovely and stand up amazingly well with the windy batterings they get in our garden.

The stipa tennuissuma? Not so much.

The grass was supposed to be frothing  and waving about, with the allium heads popping out above, all modern-bucolic-like.

In reality, the grass went in, the wind blew, the grass flattened. Gah!
